Red Kite

A resident, reintroduced population is slowly expanding in Ireland.

A graceful bird of prey, larger than a Buzzard, with long wings and a long distinctly forked tail. Many of the Red Kites seen in Ireland bear coloured plastic identification tags on their wings.

Being primarily a scavenger, the Red Kite mainly feeds on carrion such as roadkill or other dead animals they come across.

How I captured these images

In most cases I will have my GoPro with me and document how I capture my images, white capturing footage of the subject.
