Hedgehog, Drogheda Co. Louth
The western European hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus) is a distinctive but little studied mammal in Ireland. It was first recorded in Waterford in the 13th century.
The hedgehog is now found throughout the island of Ireland having originally been restricted to only occupying deciduous woodlands. Hedgehogs are definitely a gardener's friend, because they eat beetles, caterpillars, worms and other invertebrates you might not want.
How I captured these images
In most cases I will have my GoPro with me and document how I capture my images, white capturing footage of the subject.
