Eurasian jay

The Eurasian jay is a species of passerine bird in the crow family. Presence most frequently revealed by its loud voice. In autumn, caches large numbers of nuts (beech, oak, hazel) for use during the winter and is able to remember the location of these caches with a high degree of accuracy.

The Jay mainly eat acorns, nuts, seeds and insects, but also eats nestlings of other birds and small mammals. Jays are famous for their acorn feeding habits and in the autumn you may see them burying acorns for retrieving later in the winter.
