Irish Brown Hare
The Irish hare (Lepus timidus hibernicus) is one of three lagomorphs found on the Island of Ireland and the only native lagomorph.
The Hare is Reddish-brown, flecked with black with buff flanks. Noticeably larger than a rabbit, length ranging from 490-610mm.
The Irish hare is active mostly at night. During the day it rests, well hidden, in a flattened patch of grass or hollow in the soil called a form. Diet varies depending on where the hare lives. A variety of grasses are eaten but in upland areas, sedges, heather, thyme and woody plants are also taken.
How I captured these images
In most cases I will have my GoPro with me and document how I capture my images, white capturing footage of the subject.
